France: Harmonized inflation climbs in November
Consumer prices rose 0.1% in November, after seeing no growth in October, according to a first estimate by the Statistical Institute (INSEE). The introduction of a new tobacco tax and the rebound in gas prices likely drove the monthly upturn.
Harmonized consumer prices rose 0.1% month-on-month in November (October: -0.1% month-on-month), while harmonized inflation increased to 1.2% after 0.9% in October. Meanwhile, annual average harmonized inflation eased to 1.3% from 1.4% a month prior.
