France: Harmonized inflation falls to over one-year low in October
Harmonized inflation came in at 4.5% in October, down from September’s 5.7%. October’s reading marked the lowest inflation rate since February 2022. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages and transporation grew at a more moderate rate in October.
Annual average harmonized inflation ticked down to 6.2% in October (September: 6.4%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 4.0% in October, from September’s 4.9%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.17% from the previous month in October, following September’s 0.57% fall.
