France: Harmonized inflation ticks up in October
Consumer prices fell a seasonally-adjusted 0.04% from the previous month in October, a softer decrease than the 0.51% drop logged in September. The reading was largely driven by a less pronounced decrease in prices for services. In addition, price pressures for food and beverages also rebounded from the previous month, while energy prices rose.
Harmonized inflation came in at 0.1% in October, up from September’s 0.0% result. Annual average harmonized inflation edged down to 0.7% in October (September: 0.8%).
