France: Inflation creeps up in June
On 11 July, the Statistical Institute (INSEE) reported that consumer prices rose 0.2% month-on-month in June, inching up from May’s 0.1% increase, in large part due to a rebound in prices for services.
Inflation climbed to 1.2% from 0.9% in May, while core inflation landed at 0.9% (May: 0.5%). Annual average inflation, meanwhile, ticked down to 1.6% from 1.7%.
Harmonized consumer prices rose 0.3% month-on-month in June, up from 0.1% in May, while harmonized inflation increased to 1.4% from 1.1% in May. Lastly, annual average harmonized inflation remained stable at 1.9%.
