Germany: Harmonized inflation drops in October
Harmonized inflation fell to 3.0% in October, following September’s 4.3%. October’s figure represented the lowest inflation rate since June 2021 and was slightly below market expectations.
In addition, the trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 7.3% in October (September: 8.0%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 3.8% in October, from the previous month’s 4.5%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices fell 0.16% from the previous month in October, flipping from the 0.16% rise recorded in September. October’s result marked the weakest reading since May.
