Germany: Harmonized inflation drops in September
Harmonized inflation fell to 4.3% in September, following August’s 6.4%. September’s figure represented the lowest inflation rate since September 2021 and was slightly below market expectations.
In addition, the trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 8.0% in September (August: 8.5%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 4.5% in September, from the previous month’s 6.1%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.16% from the previous month in September, coming in below the 0.39% rise recorded in August. September’s result marked the weakest reading since May.
