Ghana: Inflation edges up in December
Consumer prices rose 1.0% over the previous month in December, marginally up from a 0.9% month-on-month increase in November. There was an across-the-board jump in prices, barring prices for education, which came in flat. Recreation and culture recorded the biggest increase in prices.
Inflation came in at 11.8% in December, inching up from 11.7% in November. It remains above the Central Bank’s medium-term inflation target of 8.0% plus or minus 2.0%. Meanwhile, annual average inflation fell from 12.7% in November to 12.4% in December.
