Ghana: Inflation inches down in September
Consumer prices came in flat from the previous month in September, matching August’s print. Eight out of the 12 sub-components recorded higher prices, two saw a fall in prices, while the remaining two were flat. Education registered the biggest upturn in prices, while food and non-alcoholic beverages saw the largest price drop.
Inflation inched down to 9.8% in September, from 9.9% in August. Thus, it remains within the Central Bank’s medium-term target band of 8.0% plus or minus 2.0 percentage points. Meanwhile, annual average inflation edged down to an over four-year low of 10.4% in September, from 10.6% in August.
