Ghana: Inflation inches down in September
Inflation edged down to 7.6% in September from 7.8% in August following a modification to the consumer price index base year from 2012 to 2018. Thus, inflation fell further below the midpoint of the Central Bank’s 6.0%–10.0% target band. According to the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), September’s moderation largely reflected softer non-food price increases.
Meanwhile, average annual inflation decreased marginally to 9.1% in September from 9.2% in August and consumer prices fell 0.1% from the previous month in September.
