Ghana: Inflation rises in June
Inflation increased to 42.5% in June from May’s 42.1%. The reading surprised markets to the upside and was driven by higher price pressures coming from food. Non-food inflation inched down due to the lower contribution of transport and housing.
Annual average inflation rose to 43.8% in June (May: 42.9%).
Lastly, consumer prices rose a seasonally adjusted 3.22% from the previous month in June, which was below May’s 4.79% rise.
