Greece: Economic sentiment rises in April
Economic sentiment came in at 108.5 in April, up from March’s 108.4. As a result, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected stronger sentiment in the services and retail sectors. Moreover, consumer confidence improved in the surveyed month. On the flip side, sentiment in the industrial and construction sectors weakened.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were healthier, while the economic uncertainty index decreased in April.
