Greece: Economic sentiment eases in July
Economic sentiment came in at 106.8 in July, down from June’s 110.5. July’s result marked the weakest sentiment since February. Consequently, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected declining sentiment in the industrial, construction and services sectors. Moreover, consumer confidence deteriorated in July. That said, sentiment in the retail sector improved in the surveyed month.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated, while the economic uncertainty index improved in July.
