Greece: Industrial production growth slides in December
Industrial production expanded a working-day-adjusted 0.2% in December compared to the same month of the previous year, which was notably below November’s revised 2.0% growth (previously reported: +0.8% year-on-year). December’s slowdown was driven by a swing to contraction in electricity production. In addition, mining and quarrying output and water supply also fell in December.
Industrial output rose 0.4% in December over the previous month in working-day adjusted terms, which was a turnaround from November’s 0.4% drop. Annual average growth in industrial production edged down from November’s 4.4% to 4.2% in December.
