Greece: Harmonized inflation slides in April
Harmonized inflation came in at 3.2% in April, which was down from March’s 3.4%. The moderation was primarily due to a more moderate increase in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition, price pressures for housing and utilities dropped after growing in the previous month. Moreover, prices for recreation grew at a more subdued pace.
Annual average harmonized inflation fell to 3.3% in April (March: 3.4%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation edged down to 3.1% in April, from March’s 3.2%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.94% in April over the previous month, following the 1.80% increase seen in March.
