Greece: Harmonized inflation rises in June
Harmonized inflation inched up to 2.2% in June, slightly above May’s 2.1%. Looking at the details of the release, prices for restaurants and hotels rose at a sharper rate, and housing and utilities prices dropped at a softer pace. That said, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, and for transportion increased at a more moderate pace in June.
The trend pointed down mildly, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 3.0% in June (May: 3.1%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 2.3% in June from the previous month’s 2.4%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices rose 1.02% in June over the previous month, contrasting the 0.29% drop recorded in May.
