Greece: Harmonized inflation increases in March
Harmonized inflation inched up to 3.4% in March, following February’s 3.1%. March’s figure marked the highest inflation rate since December 2023. The result was mainly driven by stronger prices pressures for transportation, housing and restaurants and hotels.
The trend pointed down mildly, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 3.4% in March (February: 3.6%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 3.2% in March, from the previous month’s 2.9%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 1.80% from the previous month in March, picking up from February’s 0.13% rise. March’s jump was the highest reading since September 2023.
