Greece: Unemployment rate rises in July
July’s data sent negative signals regarding the health of the labor market. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 9.9% in July from June’s downwardly revised 9.5%, while the number of employed people decreased by 46,286 compared with June.
Meanwhile, the number of unemployed increased by 16,728 relative to June. Moreover, the number of individuals outside the labor force rose by 26,998 compared with June, representing a 0.9% increase.
