Greece: Unemployment rate declines for a sixth consecutive month in June
June’s data pointed to a large improvement in the labor market. The number of employed people increased by 12,020 compared to May, while the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate inched down from May’s 12.5% to 12.1% in June. Moreover, the number of unemployed decreased by 17,233 from May to June amid higher employment and a lower labor force participation. In fact, the number of people outside the labor force increased by 2,560 people compared with May, representing a 0.1% rise.
