Greece: Unemployment rate falls in May
According to data recently released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (EL.STAT), the number of unemployed workers decreased by 18,029 in May compared with April and the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate fell to 19.5% from a revised 20.0% in the previous month (previously reported: 20.2%). In addition, May’s unemployment rate was below that of the same month last year (May 2017: 21.7%).
Youth unemployment—individuals between the ages of 15-24—came in at 39.7% in May, the highest in the Eurozone by far.
