Greece: Unemployment rate inches up in April
According to data recently released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (EL.STAT), the number of unemployed workers decreased by 7,698 in April compared with March. The seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate, however, ticked up to 20.2% in April from 20.1% in March, although the figure was still well below that of the same month last year (April 2017: 21.7%).
Unemployment among individuals between the ages of 15-24, however, fell, but remains at 42.3% in April (March: 43.2%); the highest in the Eurozone by far.
