Guatemala: Economic activity growth stable in June
Data from Banguat’s monthly index of economic activity (IMAE, Indice Mensual de la Actividad Económica) showed that economic activity growth was flat month-on-month in June, contrasting May’s revised 0.7% expansion (previously reported: +0.4% month-on-month).
Growth in economic activity was stable at May’s 3.2% in June on a year-on-year unadjusted basis. (As of this month, FocusEconomics will track the original cycle, instead of the trend cycle index.) Growth in June came on the back of expansions in the transportation, storage and communications; wholesale and retail trade; and manufacturing industries. Meanwhile, annual average growth in economic activity was stable at May’s 2.7%.
