Guatemala: Economic activity nosedives in April
Economic activity in Guatemala contracted 10.2% year-on-year in April, deteriorating from March’s 5.2% fall, amid containment measures to curb the spread of Covid-19. Moreover, the drop marked the second-consecutive fall in economic activity as well as the steepest contraction since at least January 2015.
Consequently, annual average growth in the economic activity index moderated to 2.0% in April from 3.1% in March.
