Guatemala: Inflation increases in April
Inflation came in at 3.4% in April, up from March’s 3.2%. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and alcoholic beverages, and housing and utilities grew at a stronger rate in April. Meanwhile, clothing and footwear prices lost some momentum.
Still, the trend pointed down, with annual average inflation falling to 4.3% in April (March: 4.7%).
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.29% from the previous month in April, slowing down from March’s 0.31%.
