Guatemala: Inflation rises in May
Inflation came in at 3.8% in May, up from April’s 3.4%. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and alcoholic beverages, and housing and utilities grew at a stronger rate in May. Meanwhile, restaurant and hospitality prices lost some momentum.
Still, the trend pointed down, with annual average inflation falling to 4.1% in May (April: 4.3%).
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.03% from the previous month in May, slowing down from April’s 0.29%.
