Guatemala: Inflation climbs in June
Consumer prices rose 0.83% month-on-month in June, up from the 0.26% increase in May. The print reflected a jump in communication prices, while food and health prices also rose in June. Recreation, housing, and transportation became cheaper, however.
Inflation, meanwhile, edged up to 4.8% in June from 4.5% in May and moved closer to the upper limit of the Central Bank’s 3.0%–5.0% target range. Annual average inflation inched up to 3.9% in June from 3.8% in May.
