Guatemala: Inflation eases in January
Guatemalan consumer prices fell 0.24% month-on-month in January, contrasting the 0.60% monthly increase registered in December. The print reflected cheaper prices for food; transport; and recreation.
Inflation, meanwhile, fell to 1.8% in January from 3.4% in December, moving below the Central Bank’s 3.0%–5.0% target range, with the annual average inflation rate easing to 3.5% from 3.7%.
