Guatemala: Inflation hits over two-year high in October
Consumer prices increased 1.06% in October over the previous month, accelerating from the 0.16% rise recorded in September. October’s uptick marked the sharpest increase in prices since June and came on the back of a strong increase in transport and rent prices.
Inflation edged up to 5.3% in October, slightly above September’s 5.0%. October’s figure was the highest inflation rate since December 2017. Annual average inflation rose to 2.9% in October (September: 2.6%).
