Guatemala: Inflation climbs higher in April
Consumer prices rose 0.26% month-on-month in May, down from the 0.60% increase in April. The print reflected robust housing prices, which were partially offset by a noticeably softer rise in transport costs.
Inflation, meanwhile, edged down to 4.5% in May from 4.8% in April and moved closer to the midway point of the Central Bank’s 3.0%–5.0% target range. Annual average inflation was stable at April’s 3.8% in June.
