Guatemala: Inflation closes in on Banguat target midpoint in March
Consumer prices rose 0.23% from a month earlier in March, rebounding from February’s 0.20% month-on-month decline. March’s reading recorded price hikes across nearly all categories but was driven largely by higher food and health care prices.
Inflation eased to 4.1% in March from 4.2% a month earlier. As a result, inflation closed in on the midpoint of Banguat’s target range of 4.0% plus/minus 1.0 percentage point. Additionally, annual average inflation ticked down to 4.1% from 4.2%.
