Guatemala: Inflation comes in at highest level since May in October
Inflation came in at 5.0% in October, up from September’s 4.7%. October’s result represented the highest inflation rate since May. The pick-up was largely driven by increasing prices for food and alcoholic beverages as well as housing, electricity, water and fuels.
Annual average inflation fell to 7.0% in October (September: 7.4%).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 1.27% in October over the previous month, picking up from September’s 0.56% increase. October’s result marked the highest reading since June 2022.
