Guatemala: Inflation hits highest level since December 2017 in September
Consumer prices increased 0.16% in September over the previous month, coming in below August’s 0.40% increase. September’s result marked the softest rise in prices since February and came on the back of cheaper food and rent, which offset a steep increase in transport prices.
Inflation rose to 5.0% in September, above August’s 4.2%. September’s figure represented the highest inflation rate since December 2017. Annual average inflation rose to 2.6% in September (August: 2.4%).
