Guatemala: Inflation increases in September
Inflation came in at 4.7% in September, up from August’s 4.5%. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and alcoholic beverages increased at a faster pace in September. In contrast, prices for housing, electricity, water and fuels increased at a slower rate.
The trend pointed down, with annual average inflation coming in at 7.4% in September (August: 7.8%).
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.56% in September over the previous month, a smaller increase than August’s 0.63% rise. September’s result marked the softest rise in prices since June.
