Guatemala: Inflation rises to near 11-year high in June
Consumer prices increased 1.83% from the previous month in June, picking up from the 1.31% increase seen in May. The reading was largely driven by rising prices for food and alcoholic beverages. In addition, price pressures for housing, electricity, water and fuels.
Inflation rose to 7.6% in June, above May’s 5.8%. June’s reading was the highest inflation rate since August 2011. Annual average inflation ticked up to 4.0% in June (May: 3.7%).
