Hong Kong: Inflation moderates in August
Consumer prices fell a seasonally-adjusted 0.10% in August over the previous month, mirroring July’s reading. Looking at the details of the release, prices for housing fell in August and prices for transportation grew at a slower rate.
Inflation came in at 1.6% in August, down from July’s 3.8%. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 0.6% in August (July: 0.4%).
