Hong Kong: Retail sales growth eases in March
Retail sales growth decelerated to 19.8% in year-on-year terms in March, after soaring 31.5% in February. Looking at the details of the release, March’s rise was broad-based, with clothing and footwear, durable goods, jewellery and fuel sales all increasing robustly in the month.
Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of retail sales coming in at minus 11.6%, up from February’s minus 16.9% reading.
