Hong Kong: Retail sales growth picks up pace in June
Retail sales rose 17.5% year on year in June (May: +16.5% yoy). The pickup was driven by accelerating food and alcoholic beverages and jewelry, watches and valuables sales. In contrast, fuel and clothing and footwear sales decelerated.
Meanwhile, the trend improved notably, with the annual average growth of retail sales coming in at 9.6%, up from May’s 7.7%.
