Hong Kong: Retail sales rebound in October
Retail sales rose 2.4% compared to the same month of the previous year in October, which contrasted September’s 1.3% decrease. The figure marked the best reading since April. October’s notable pickup was driven by softer falls in fuel, clothing and food sales, as well as faster growth in jewelry sales.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of retail sales coming in at minus 2.3% in October, down from September’s minus 1.7%.
