Hungary: Economy expands at fastest pace in over three years in Q4
The Hungarian economy shifted into a higher gear in the final quarter of the year. According to preliminary data released by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) on 14 February, economic growth in Q4 came in at 4.4% year-on-year, the fastest expansion since Q2 2014. The print, which was largely supported by market-based services and construction, exceeded the previous quarter’s 3.9% increase.
On a quarter-on-quarter, seasonally- and calendar-adjusted basis, GDP growth accelerated from an already-strong 1.0% increase in Q3 to 1.3% in Q4.
