Hungary: Inflation declines to lowest level since March in June
Inflation fell to 3.7% in June, from May’s 4.0%. June’s result marked the lowest inflation rate since March. Looking at the details of the release, price pressures for transport, recreation and health eased from the prior month, while food prices continued to decline.
Annual average inflation fell to 7.4% in June (May: 8.7%). Meanwhile, core inflation ticked up to 4.1% in June from the previous month’s 4.0%.
Lastly, consumer prices dropped 0.05% over the previous month in June, largely in line with May’s 0.06% drop.
