Hungary: Inflation eases in June
Consumer prices declined 0.2% month-on-month in June, contrasting the 0.7% rise in May. Lower prices for food and fuel drove the downturn. Core consumer prices, meanwhile, rose 0.2% month-on-month (May: 0.4% month-on-month).
Inflation fell to 3.4% in June from 3.9% in May, moving closer to the midpoint of the Central Bank’s target range of 3.0% plus or minus 1.0 percentage point. Similarly, core inflation dipped to 3.8% from 4.0%.
Lastly, annual average inflation remained at over five-year high of 3.4% in June.
