Hungary: Inflation ticks up in October
Consumer prices rose 0.6% over the previous month in October, after increasing 0.1% month-on-month in September. The reading reflected higher prices for clothing and footwear, alcoholic beverages and tobacco, and food.
Inflation ticked up to 2.9% in October from 2.8% in September, which had marked the lowest reading since January, and crept closer to the midpoint of the Central Bank’s target range of 3.0% plus or minus 1.0 percentage point. Meanwhile, core inflation, in seasonally-adjusted terms, inched up to 4.0% in October from 3.9% in September.
Lastly, annual average inflation fell to 3.2% in October from 3.3% in September.
