Hungary: Inflation falls to over one-year low in November
Inflation came in at 7.9% in November, down from October’s 9.9%. November’s result represented the weakest inflation rate since January 2022. Looking at the details of the release, prices for clothing and footwear fell in November. In contrast, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rebounded. Meanwhile, housing and energy prices shrunk at a more pronounced rate.
In addition, the trend pointed down, with annual average inflation coming in at 18.8% in November (October: 20.1%). Meanwhile, core inflation fell to 9.0% in November, from the previous month’s 10.9%.
Lastly, consumer prices were unchanged in November over the previous month, after the 0.12% drop logged in October.
