Indonesia: Inflation falls to over one-year low in July
Inflation fell to 3.1% in July from June’s 3.5%. July’s result represented the weakest inflation rate since March 2022. Looking at the details of the release, the change in prices for clothing and footwear grew at a slower pace in July and prices for housing, water, electricity and household fuels grew at a softer rate. Meanwhile, transport prices grew at a softer pace.
Annual average inflation fell to 4.8% in July (June: 5.0%). Meanwhile, core inflation edged down to 2.4% in July, from June’s 2.6%.
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.21% in July over the previous month, picking up from June’s 0.14% increase.
