Indonesia: Inflation falls to over one-year low in September
Inflation came in at 2.3% in September, down from August’s 3.3%. September’s figure marked the lowest inflation rate since February 2022. Looking at the details of the release, the change in prices for clothing and footwear was broadly stable in September and prices for housing, water, electricity and household fuels rose at a mostly steady pace compared to the previous month’s reading. Meanwhile, transport prices increased at a weaker pace.
Annual average inflation fell to 4.4% in September (August: 4.7%). Meanwhile, core inflation edged down to 2.0% in September, from the previous month’s 2.2%.
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.19% from the previous month in September, swinging from the 0.02% drop logged in August.
