Indonesia: Inflation increases in March
Inflation came in at 3.0% in March, up from February’s 2.8%. March’s reading was the highest inflation rate since August 2023. The acceleration was primarily due to increasing price pressures for food, clothing and footwear, and transport.
Annual average inflation edged down to 3.1% in March (February: 3.3%). Meanwhile, core inflation was stable, coming in at February’s 1.7% in March.
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.52% in March over the previous month, picking up from February’s 0.37% rise. March’s uptick was the highest reading since December 2022.
