Indonesia: Inflation rises in August
Inflation ticked up to 3.3% in August, slightly above July’s 3.1%. The figure was primarily driven by stronger growth in prices for food and transport.
The trend pointed down mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 4.7% in August (July: 4.8%). Meanwhile, core inflation edged down to 2.2% in August, from July’s 2.4%.
Finally, consumer prices dropped 0.02% in August over the previous month, swinging from July’s 0.21% increase. August’s result marked the weakest reading since October 2022.
