Indonesia: Retail sales growth rises in July
Retail sales grew 4.3% compared to the same month of the previous year in July, which was above June’s 2.7% increase. July’s figure was partly due to faster growth in food, beverages, and tobacco sales. In contrast, motor vehicles, parts and accessories sales weakened. Lastly, cultural and recreation goods sales, and information and communication equipment sales decreased at sharper rates.
Meanwhile, the trend improved slightly, with the annual average growth of retail sales coming in at 2.5%, up from June’s 2.3%.
