Ireland: Consumer sentiment remains upbeat in February
Consumer confidence came in at 70.2 in February, down from January’s 74.2. Despite the downtick, February’s result was the second-strongest in two years.
The downtick came as consumers became less upbeat about the current and past state of the economy and of their personal finances.
Despite the downtick, the reading remained upbeat, suggesting that consumer sentiment—and subsequently private spending—remained on an upward trend in Q1 as price pressures begin to subside.
