Ireland: Industrial output deteriorates in September
Industrial production decreased 2.9% month-on-month in seasonally adjusted terms in September (August: +6.0% mom). September’s figure was largely driven by a deterioration in modern sector production. In contrast, traditional sector production improved.
On an annual basis, overall industrial production plunged 27.0% in September, which was below August’s 26.0% fall and marked the worst result in our records. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth fell to 0.3% in September (August: +6.2%), signaling a worsening trend in the industrial sector.
