Ireland: Industrial output dips in October
Industrial production collapsed 7.0% month on month in seasonally adjusted terms in October (September: -2.2% mom s.a.). The figure was largely driven by a sharper drop in modern sector production. In addition, traditional sector production fell.
On an annual basis, overall industrial production plummeted 31.4% in October, which was well below September’s 27.2% fall and marked the worst result in our records. Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 6.3%, contrasting September’s plus 0.6%.
